Planning a Skin Treatment Trip to Korea: Entry, Payment and Practicalities

Clinics Korea does not determine immigration status or visa eligibility. Check your nationality and travel purpose with the official K-ETA service and the Korean embassy or consulate before booking flights or treatment.

Use only the official K-ETA site or app and follow its current timing and document instructions. Exemptions, fees and processing conditions can change; an older blog post is not a substitute for the current government result.

If the visit may fall outside ordinary tourism, obtain advice from the responsible Korean authority. A clinic confirmation is not an entry authorization.

Contact the clinic as soon as your dates are fixed and ask it to confirm the exact branch, time, deposit and cancellation terms. Availability is controlled by the clinic; a message or form submission alone is not an appointment.

Confirm in advance that the consultation itself — not just reception — is available in English or your language. This is the single most common gap: a clinic may have an English-speaking front desk and a doctor who consults only in Korean.

Decide your treatment dates in the order described in our downtime guide, and tell whoever books for you about any event or flight you need to look your best for.

Ask the clinic which international card networks, cash payments, deposits and transaction limits it accepts. Keep enough flexibility to use another payment method if your card issuer blocks an overseas charge.

Get a data SIM or eSIM at the airport, or arrange an eSIM before you travel. You will want connectivity for maps and messaging on the day of your appointment.

Download Naver Map before you arrive. Google Maps has significant limitations in Korea for walking and driving directions because of mapping-data export restrictions, and Naver Map is what people actually use. Kakao Map is the common alternative. For getting from Incheon Airport into the city, the AREX airport railroad and limousine buses both work — check the official airport site for current routes and times.

Clinic buildings in areas like Myeongdong and Gangnam often hold several clinics across many floors — note the floor number, not just the address, and give yourself ten extra minutes to find the right lift.

Many clinics keep unusual hours: some close for lunch, some open on public holidays, some only on certain weekdays. Confirm your slot the day before rather than assuming standard business hours.

Ask the treating clinic what skin care, sun protection or other aftercare items are appropriate for the proposed procedure rather than relying on a generic packing list.
