Your First Visit to a Korean Dermatology Clinic: What Actually Happens

Ask the clinic which passport or other identification it requires for an international visitor. Confirm accepted card networks, deposits and any payment limits before arrival instead of assuming every branch has the same policy.

Two things that make the consultation far more productive: photos of the result you want (or of your own skin on a good day and a bad day), and a written list of any medications, supplements and allergies. If you have had injectables before, note the product and roughly when — it changes what the doctor can safely do.

Ask whether the clinic wants you to arrive without makeup and how much time to allow for intake, consultation and any preparation. Timing varies by procedure and clinic.

The order of intake, coordinator contact and physician consultation varies. Confirm whether the physician consults directly in your language or whether an interpreter is used; an English enquiry page does not prove that every part of the visit is conducted in English.

The doctor examines your skin, asks what bothers you, and proposes a plan. This is the moment to be specific. 'I want to look less tired' gives the doctor very little to work with; 'the hollows under my eyes and the lines around my mouth' gives them a target. It is completely normal to say a proposed treatment is outside your budget and ask what else would help.

Request an itemized quote before treatment. Check the exact product name and volume, device and shot count where relevant, consultation, numbing and aftercare charges, VAT status, promotional conditions and final amount. Aurea Clinic's August 2026 source menu states that its listed figures exclude 10% VAT.

Ask how the clinic verifies the product or device used and do not accept unpriced additions. Compare the same product, volume, area and device setting rather than relying on an unsupported 'cheap' or 'premium' label.

Ask in advance whether consultation and treatment can occur on the same visit. You pay the clinic directly under its own written quote; Clinics Korea does not take treatment payment on the public Aurea route.

Before leaving, request written aftercare and a record of the product, volume, device settings or shot count used where applicable. Confirm the language and format in which the clinic can provide those records.
